A delightful twosome from our guest this evening, Peter Denley. The first part a thematic display of man and the sea through the ages
, the second part a Postal History treatise on the introduction, usage and eventual abolition of the wheel tax applied to mail in the early 19th century, mainly in Scotland.
And what coul
d have been better to provide contrast. Both displays showed a depth of knowledge, research and painstaking acquisition of material that delighted the members present
